We have two types of load securing pole - 1 & 2. System 1 is a sliding rubber wedge action and System 2 is a scissor clamp action. Each securing pole has a badge with the same unique rack serial number on to avoid misuse on incompatible racks.
A multi-strap system is also available to transport a wide range of materials other than glass. Straps are available for horizontal and vertical use and have special end fittings which locate in to the rack pillars.
We have two types of interior load securing poles - tie-on and turn lock. Both types locate in to the floor, have a sliding sponge block to position against the glass and tie off above the load to secure.
Turn lock poles locate through the floor and twist to lock in place. This system prevents the pole from "jumping out" and is used in high volume vehicles.
Cam buckle straps for tying off can be supplied to improve speed of operation and safety.
Pack stops for bodies are available for use externally and internally. They are used to divide the load and contain it in separate positions distributed along the rack. The load butts up to the pack stop and eliminates material movement under braking.
A small device fixed to the rear of the rack to show the operator the inclination of the rack. It aids in judging that the angle of lean is sufficient for the safe loading and unloading of materials.
Fixed at the front and rear of the rack, the boards are reflective and clearly define the racks presence on the side of the vehicle. They will help contain the load should there be material movement under certain extreme conditions, and they are quickly detached by the release of a thumbscrew.
As an additional safety measure, we have recently introduced reflective inserts to the front and rear rack pillars, at the top and at the bottom, now outlining the extremities of the rack at night time.
From side on, there is an amber reflector in the face of each base block again highlighting the presence of the rack to oncoming traffic when manoeuvring across road junctions.
Positioned at the front of the rack above the cab door, the load securing poles locate into it and contain them safely during the loading/unloading operation. It eliminates operators dropping them on the floor or leaning them on the vehicle, thus creating a hazard.
