Supertrucks Ltd has long been recognised as providing the highest quality glass carrying equipment. Now, thanks to the information gained from extensive testing with a leading van manufacturer, the company is providing a three-year/100,000 mile warranty for all its glass carrying racks and roof racks for panel vans.
Working in conjunction with Vauxhall, Supertrucks’ racks have just been subjected to extensive durability testing at Millbrook. Fitted to a Vauxhall Movano van, the Supertrucks glass carrying rack and roof rack were subjected to the equivalent of a lifetime’s use and emerged with its integrity still intact. The tests were carried out with the external rack fully loaded with 350kg of glass and the roof rack carrying its full rated load.
Peter Wright, Supertrucks’ chairman explains, “We work closely with most major vehicle manufacturers which indicate that our product meets industry quality standards. However these latest tests carried out by Vauxhall demonstrate that our panel van conversions are safe, durable and reliable and that the mountings are also equally sound.”
Supertrucks’ confidence in the design and quality of its racks is complemented by the company’s news that it has just achieved ISO9001: 2000 accreditation.
Peter Wright continues, “We have long been committed to achieving high quality standards and these latest moves demonstrate both our confidence in our product and the high levels of quality process that we work to.”
Supertrucks’ continuing programme of raising manufacturing quality includes a recent major investment of over £250,000 in new CNC-controlled manufacturing equipment to provide higher levels of production quality and greater manufacturing flexibility.
Supertrucks has launched the new Glass-Glide glass carrying rack the first of its type to be made in the UK - to provide glazing businesses with more efficient and safer glass carrying vehicles. The Glide-Away rack system is designed to fit into virtually any 3.5 tonne gvw panel van. Thanks to its unique slide-out design it allows glass or frames to be loaded/unloaded at ground level, without the operative having to climb up into the van. Priced from just £1,490 + VAT, the new Glide-Away rack system is available in sizes of up to 4.0m long and 2.0m high. Each Glass-Glide rack has a 250kg load carrying capacity. Glass-Glide racks can be fitted on either or both of the internal load compartment body sides.
To enable it to be slid in and out of the van the Glass-Glide’s light weight aluminium glass carrying rack has stainless steel roller bearing tracking top and bottom. In transit the rack is locked into position. A single safety release handle allows the rack to be unlocked and slid out – a one handed operation even if fully loaded - from the van and locked into the fully extended position to allow safe, easy and convenient loading/unloading of glass at ground level.
Supertrucks is offering the Glass-Glide rack with a choice of its System 1 or System 3 load retention poles or a full width/height multi-strap system.
Peter Wright, Supertrucks chairman, comments, “Glazing businesses are constantly looking at ways of improving their efficiency and also to minimise the risk that their employees face. Our new Glass-Glide rack system meets these two requirements. We expect that the new Glass-Glide will become a very popular option with our customers, with its ability to cut their costs and improve the day-to-day working life of their operatives.”
